You could call it perseverance, but I like to call it STICK-TO-IT-IVENESS. And Here are 10 Examples of “Stick-to-it-ive-ness” For You to Try: Coach new people, in new situations, until you find the thing that lights you up on the inside. Then do more of that. Make new friends. Be friendly and helpful online. Go to in person events. Be charming. People want more of people who make them feel good. The more connections you make, the larger your coaching network becomes. Making it as a coach is dependent upon your ability to try new things. Even if it's something you might not like, or better yet if it is something that scares you, go out and do it anyway. Ditch what you don't like, and try more new. Rinse, wash, repeat. Don't be afraid of other peoples words. Always ask for feedback, for more information. You will learn more about your coaching this way than you ever did in certification. Develop clear, results based programs that make it easy for clients to want what you offer - and pay you for your services. Learn about your clients. Learn what they love, what they're afraid of, and what they do for fun. This helps you connect better and create the perfect programs for them. Coach for free. Volunteer at organizations that touch your heart. You'll learn more about yourself, your strengths, and the world. The secret to making it as a coach is not to compare your success or failure to others. You take care of you, and let other people take care of themselves. Tell people what you do. Clearly. Take a stand for your expertise and your world-changin'-power. Look them in the eye while you explain yourself. This might take some practicing in the mirror, but it is important to be able to clearly articulate what you do and why you are great at it. The hard truth about coaching is it is really difficult to build a business around it. It's challenging to create a steady stream of clients. It's not easy to make significant money in the first year. But it's oh so worth it, and completely within your grasp. How? The secret to succeeding as a coach is simply to develop a strong case of stick-to-it-iveness. Then, years from now you'll look back and say, "It was so simple, I just didn't stop."
