      Hi Louise,
Phew - that sounds a bit harsh! We chose our quotes purely based on the content, and I'll freely admit that I didn't check the authors' diversity beforehand (see end of this comment for what we will do in future!).
I'm not sure that being "dead" means their words are any less valid - in fact, this means people have been saying this stuff for some time, and it's STILL an issue! So you could say, their words are more impactful because they are dead (just one perspective).
Re: 0% women - well, that is easy to rectify next time we do some quotes for Earth Day. I usually do ensure we have women quoted when we make graphics. It's something I will pay closer attention to in the future.
Re: 75% pale skinned - again, I chose the quotes based on the content. It's likely that pale people get "quoted" more - those in charge write the history, hence the lack of women in history...
I don't know if you've noticed, but when it comes to imagery we make a distinct effort - and more so recently as produce more graphics and learn - to ensure we have not just gender diversity, skin colour, but also size, age and not just the most beautiful people either. We work hard not to fall into cultural stereotyping - eg. "cute" sexualised asian women. Oh - and we try to avoid sexualised women altogether.
So, to answer your comment. We are a tiny company, we try hard, we are learning as we go. And yes, absolutely, it would have been nice to have at least one woman if not two, and one more non-pale person - so one more.
We (really) will think a bit more carefully next time.
      Warmly, Emma-Louise

I agree it’s abit harsh, I read them and thought nothing of the authors only what had been stated and I agreed. Also I was too busy admiring the art work and preoccupied with who the artist was, and planning how I could use them. Thank You Emma-Louise and Team keep up the good work and great offers.
