QUESTION 1. What one book should every coach read - and why?

What Got You Here Won't Get You There by Dr. Marshall Goldsmith.

It will help you understand how to help your client leverage and amplify existing strengths that enable them to achieve their goals; and let-go strengths that are being overused and are blocking their next-level growth.

QUESTION 2. Which website do you visit the most?

LinkedIn: to connect with people, learn from other people's posts, and share my insights.

QUESTION 3. Whom do you admire most and why?

My mom—she is a superwoman!

In spite of all the financial and emotional challenges faced by her, my mom has maintained her optimism. She instilled in me the right values and ethical conduct. And she has demonstrated how to persevere through hardships, be resilient and eventually overcome the hurdles.

She exemplifies these words: When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

QUESTION 4. What's your vision for your life? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I want to live a life of purpose and meaning. And through my work I want to positively impact the lives of others.

In the next 5 years, I see myself leveraging digital tools for enhancing my leadership development practice.

QUESTION 5. What are your Top 3 Goals at the moment?

My big project is growing my coaching practice in large organizations.

And my top 3 goals are:

  • Enhancing the value of my coaching sessions
  • Taking care of my family's wellness
  • Developing innovative approaches for my clients' development

QUESTION 6. What has been your favourite coaching moment so far?

When my client had an aha moment during a role-play session. She developed a new approach by modifying her usual response.

This boosted her confidence and grew her skill in dealing with the situation. It was like going to a gym and stretching her 'emotional' muscles.

QUESTION 7. What are your Top 3 favourite coaching tools and/or resources?

  1. Pinpointing your differentiators
  2. Leadership style assessment
  3. 360 degree feedback

QUESTION 8. What do you love most about being a coach?

To be a catalyst in the people development process.

QUESTION 9. Tell us a secret about you...

I cry when I watch emotional scenes in movies 🙂

QUESTION 10. If you could change one thing in our world, what would it be? And how would you go about it?

If I could change one thing in our world, it would be to improve mental health and wellbeing.

I would encourage people to treat others with empathy and listen without prejudice or preconceived notions.

By understanding the difference between empathy and sympathy, a leader can motivate and inspire people to gain mastery without sacrificing the timeline and quality standards of the work at hand.
