About Jenn Danielson:

From: Burnaby, BC, Canada

Business name: Jenn Danielson Co

Describe your coaching business in one sentence: I am personal development coach and Reiki Master who helps people connect their dots across life, work, family and goals to create their best growth and energetic balance.

Meet Jenn:

QUESTION 1: What one book should every coach read - and why?

Thinking Fast and Slow, by Daniel Kahneman. It shares insight into people’s reactions and delves into biases that affect our judgement and behaviour.

QUESTION 2: Which website do you visit the most?

Aside from Instagram? For relevant articles, I find connections on Harvard Business Review and MindBodyGreen.

QUESTION 3: Whom do you admire most?

While I avidly follow a wide variety of people online, I most admire the people I know who have taken steps to enhance their personal work/life/family/health balance in ways that appear counter-intuitive or out of the norm.

QUESTION 4: What's your vision for your life? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

My vision includes expanded support for individuals - and through bringing groups together - to develop personal work life balances that include space for family, family health and personal health challenges.

QUESTION 5: What are your "Top 3" Goals for Your Business?

My Top 3 Goals at the moment are:

  1. Document and more broadly share my change and growth management process.
  2. Prepare for my fall Mastermind in work, life and family balance.
  3. Share my recorded meditations online.

QUESTION 6: What has been your favourite coaching moment so far?

My favourite coaching moment is always when a client makes a new connection between two "different parts" of their lives and recognises the interplay across seemingly separate areas.

QUESTION 7: What are your Top 3 favourite coaching tools and/or resources?

  1. Different Wheels - and Webs, of course!
  2. Timelines.
  3. Guided Visualizations.

QUESTION 8: What do you love most about being a coach?

I love that I get to help people create their best tools, their best plans and their best goals - these are often things I could never imagine!

QUESTION 9: Tell us a secret about you...

I have had two poems published - and can occasionally be found on the local community theatre stage.

QUESTION 10: If you could change one thing in our world, what would it be? And how would you go about it?

I would embed, as much as possible, a deep curiosity and interest for balanced and healthy connection with self and others: empathy and self-awareness.

When we appreciate others, their needs and our own needs, we can better inform our choices to establish structures for work, life and family balance. This type of cultural change takes a multi-pronged approach through education systems, healthcare, research and government.

How would I go about it? Start at the grass roots!
